Thorsten – founder and leader of the band
For me it was clear early that one day I will make the music that I like by myself. It was just unavoidable. At that time I felt the classes I was forced to attend by my parents, for organ, piano, and guitar were annoying and unnecessary. Also singing in the school choir was rather "not cool" and did not make and sense for me. It was only later, in about 1994, that I started to create instrumental music with a small computer.
A few years later, around 2000 AD, I joined two fellow “sufferers” that understood fairly well how to handle plucking instruments. Then we created together some instrumental pieces with real instruments. After everyone went his own way I was left alone, so I provided myself with own plucked and stringed instruments and began to invent today's style of Cradle of Haze and called the project the same way.

For me, music is simply part of everything, whether I'm sad or happy ... Life without music, whether homemade, from the radio or my mp3 player, is inconceivable for me .....
As a child, my grandmother was walking with me through the pedestrian zone, and I was singing, people have indeed looked weird, but if I wanted to sing, I sang, that didn’t change ‘till now! When I heard the first song of Cradle of Haze, it got under my skin. I was immediately hooked and wanted to get involved. So it happened that Thorsten and I quickly agreed that I should try to sing one chorus and well, you see where that has brought me.
